OHE players thriving at the 2018 IIHF U20 Division III World Championships

Current OHE players Yehonatan Reisinger (Israel) and Konstantin Dikov (Bulgaria), along with OHE alumni Raz Werner (Israel), played for their respective national teams during the 2018 IIHF U20 Division III World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. All players excelled during the tournament, which ended with Israel taking home the gold medal and being promoted to Division II B, while Bulgaria finished third.

Reisinger played two games for Israel during the tournament and stopped 90.4% of the shots he faced and had a 2.50 GAA on his team’s journey to the gold medal.

Dikov played five games in the tournament finishing with 1 goal and 2 assists. Dikov was also voted best defender of the tournament after his performance.

“Our two goalies were really, really good. Without those two guys we wouldn’t be here. Raz Werner did a great job against China and today it was Yehonatan’s turn to make big saves. So they both raised to the occasion and played that level they are supposed to. And without good quality goaltending you can’t win gold medals.” – Derek Eisler, Head Coach Israel U20

Next up for the boys is the 2018 IIHF U18 Division III World Championships in Turkey for Dikov and the EBYSL playoff race with our Prep team for Reisinger.
